Charging Diagnosis
Route charging faults — no charging, slow charging, no detection, temperature error, NTC fault, USB-C connector fault — to the right repair direction using measurement evidence.
Board shows 0 mA on charger
Check USB-C connector pins, charger fuse, charger IC enable rail. Use lab supply at 5V to confirm short or open path.
Negotiation fail
Possible CC line issue on USB-C, faulty charger IC handshake, or wrong cable detection. Test with known PD/QC charger.
NTC fault
Battery thermistor not detected — phone refuses to charge. Check battery connector NTC pin and trace continuity.
USB data line fault
Phone charges but PC doesn't detect — D+/D- lines broken, USB filter shorted, or PMIC USB switch dead.
Short suspect
Charger IC heating up at idle is a short condition — disconnect immediately, inspect VBUS/VBAT short.
Mechanical fault
Bent pin, missing solder, broken connector body — common cause of "phone won't turn on" after drop.
