Start Beginner course →Module 1 — workshop safety and tool use
Study ESD precautions, battery fire safety, isolation, polarity, microscope use and safe bench power. Identify multimeter modes and learn how not to place a meter in current mode across a voltage source.
Practical: inspect a dead training board and write a no-power baseline record without soldering.
Module 2 — electrical foundations
Learn voltage, resistance, current, continuity, diodes, short-to-ground tests and pull-up networks. Understand the difference between an unpowered resistance test and a powered voltage reading.
Practical: measure a known resistor and a dummy load, record range and uncertainty.
Module 3 — phone subsystems
Map battery → PMIC → system rails → SoC → DRAM/storage. Study charging/USB-C, display and touch, network/baseband, cameras and peripheral bus fundamentals.
Practical: draw a fault tree for “not charging” and identify the first safe test.
Module 4 — boot and software
Understand boot stages, USB enumeration, eMMC versus UFS, firmware package identity, AVB, A/B slots and logs. Learn why flash success does not prove hardware health.
Practical: analyze a read-only boot or restore log, then mark unknowns rather than guessing.
Module 5 — evidence-based case study
Students produce one complete case report: symptom, board ID, instrument/calibration, expected-versus-observed table, diagnosis confidence, next test and post-repair validation. Use the printable worksheet.
For instructors, see 8-week training curriculum.
संक्षेप में (Hindi)
